The Octometric Tables of Alessandro D'Aquila: An Experience of Discovery and Reflection
The Poetic Octotype Tables are works that arise from the encounter between visual art and poetry, where verses merge with optical symbols to create a unique perceptual experience. Alessandro D'Aquila uses optics octotypes as the basis for his tables, transforming them into a visual language that "decomposes" words through Braille, a process that leads us to "turn off the light to turn on reason."
As the artist explains, the Octometric Tables aim to stimulate the brain and awaken empathy. "Turn off the light to turn on reason, close your eyes to activate your brain, and undo prejudice to awaken empathy"-this is D'Aquila's philosophy, which invites viewers to let go and embrace a new form of awareness.
